Anxiety

Anxiety is love’s greatest killer. It creates the failures.
It makes others feel as you might when a drowning man holds on to you.
You want to save him, but you know he will strangle you with his panic.

– Anaïs Nin

If only you could stop your mind…

Stop your racing thoughts. Stop analyzing everything.

“How could I have said that?
“I am so stupid.”
“They must hate me.”

You wake up thinking about yesterday’s mistakes while panicking about what today will bring.

The weight of facing the day is debilitating.

Your thoughts have a mind of their own.

Every time you try to push your thoughts away, they race back with a vengeance.

The small moments of relief come when you distract yourself. You purposefully keep your day busy, over-exercise, over-eat, binge on Netflix, and turn to alcohol or other substances.

The problem is that it never lasts long.

Your mind won’t stop reminding you of all your flaws, all the bad things to come, and comparing yourself to others.

This is a losing battle, and you are exhausted.

You don’t have to fight this battle alone. It may not be possible to take your anxiety away completely; however, you can develop the skills to gain control over your thoughts with help.

You can find relief from your mind.

Anxiety is excitement without breathing.

– Fritz Perls

It’s the build-up of energy racing between what is and lost in what will be.

Together, we’ll dismantle your anxiety by identifying and processing the focus of your anxiety. More importantly, we’ll explore the underlying core beliefs that are keeping you trapped in your head.

Utilizing mindfulness skills can help you develop awareness of your anxiety by noticing how it feels in your body. Is it connected with an emotion? Does it linger in one area or rush all around?

Taking risks in therapy might intensify your anxiety – but they will also lead to the growth and learning needed to learn how to manage your anxiety.

We will experiment with ways to release your anxious energy and test these skills in daily life.

Don’t give into your anxiety.

By developing a relationship based on trust and honesty, you’ll find liberation from your mind.

Moments of overwhelming stress may arise – the difference is that you’ll be prepared. You’ll face your anxiety head on, instead of assuming defeat and searching for distraction. You will have control.

Anxiety is your superpower.

Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or

– Pema Chodron
