FAQ

Where is your office located?
My office is wherever you are located in Colorado. My sessions are all online through a HIPAA-compliant provider. When a sessions is scheduled, you will receive an appointment confirmation. Shortly before the session, you will receive a link to join the session, and I will meet you in the waiting room.
Do you offer tele/video counseling?
Yes, I do offer tele/video counseling. Please let me know if this is the best option for you.
What forms of payment do you accept?
You may pay by cash, check, Venmo, Apple Pay, and all forms of credit card including a Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card.

Payments are due at the end of each session unless prior arrangements are made.

Do you accept insurance?

I am considered an “out-of-network” provider and do not directly accept insurance.

Utilizing insurance often comes with many barriers, such as declaring your mental health diagnosis, restrictions on number of sessions, release of health information, and more. I believe individuals have a right to control their health information and treatment process, which is why I have chosen this approach.

Depending on their plan, many clients receive reimbursement from their insurance providers. I can provide you with a “super bill” (pre-completed forms for you to send to your insurance company) for reimbursement.

Please make sure to call your insurance company before starting services and ask them if they provide reimbursement for mental health services.

Do you accept sliding-scale fees?
Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding-scale clients. I am happy to discuss this with you during your consultation.
What is your cancellation policy?

I offer a 24-hour cancellation policy. Sessions missed or cancelled after 24 hours will be charged the full fee.

The only time this fee is waived is in the event of a serious or contagious illness or inclement weather.

What’s the deal with confidentiality?
What is said during our sessions remains between us except under a few safety measures. We can discuss these in detail during our consultation.
Are you going to make me meditate?

Only if you want. Meditation and mindfulness are very popular, but not for everyone. Therapy is what you make it, and you get what you want out of it.

I may challenge you to try new things and expect you to be honest with me when something is way out of your comfort zone.
